Tilbury House publishes award-winning children’s books that help young people build character, appreciate cultural diversity, and explore the natural world. For parents and educators seeking to share and discuss the complexities of the world, our books offer opportunities through the stories of real-to-life children in contemporary settings. For instance, books such as Our Friendship Rules and Say Something invite conversation about bullying and teasing; Playing War offers a gentle, but realistic way to discuss the impact of war. We have three wonderful new books this year. Give a Goat is a true story about a classroom of kids inspired by a picture book to make a difference in the world. Under the Night Sky celebrates how the beauty of nature can bring people together, especially a busy single mom and her son. And Amadi’s Snowman, set in Nigeria, follows a young boy as his curiositypiqued by a book about a snowmanleads him to wonder what other strange and amazing things books might reveal to him, if he learns to read. Together with educators who are specialists in their fields, Tilbury House has developed imaginative, user-friendly teacher's guides for many of our books and some stand-alone teacher’s guides. We also offer "Teachers Take Note" activity and discussion guides on each of our children's book pages on our website. These cyber guides include literature links and further resources for using our books in classrooms or in homeschool settings. Our books are approved for the California Instructional Materials Fund and the New York State Textbook List, and most are Accelerated Reader and Scholastic Reading Counts! books.
